SOMNIA1000
SOMNIA1000 is a dataset containing polysomnography (PSG) and wearable data of 1000 people with a sleep disorder recorded at Sleep Medicine Center Kempenhaeghe. This dataset can be requested for academic research (commercial use is not allowed). This page provides instructions how to get access to the SOMNIA1000-dataset.
SOMNIA-study
The SOMNIA-study (Sleep and Obstructive Sleep Apnea Monitoring with Non-Invasive Applications) is a research program conducted by Sleep Medicine Center Kempenhaeghe, Eindhoven University of Technology, and collaborating partners. The aim of the study is to develop a comprehensive database for sleep research and to evaluate innovative, less burdensome methods for sleep monitoring. Within SOMNIA, clinical in-lab polysomnography (PSG) recordings are combined with additional sensors and technologies, enabling the development and validation of novel biomarkers and analytical methods for sleep and sleep disorders [Van Gilst, 2019].
The SOMNIA-dataset contains recordings from participants with a wide variety of sleep disorders including: obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, non-REM parasomnia, RBD, and movement disorders. The SOMNIA-dataset also contains data from healthy adults, originally collected within the HealthBed study [Van Meulen, 2023].
About SOMNIA1000
The SOMNIA1000-dataset is a carefully curated research dataset derived from the studies described above. The dataset contains sleep recordings from 1000 participants who underwent clinical PSG at Sleep Medicine Center Kempenhaeghe.
The dataset includes:
• PSG signals recorded according to clinical standards (AASM);
• Scored sleep stages and sleep-related events according to AASM scoring criteria;
• Demographic and clinical characteristics;
• Additional (wearable) sensor data where available.
Further details about the dataset can be found in this document.
