Memory Training for Epilepsy
Many people with epilepsy feel that their memory is not functioning as well as it should. Experiencing memory problems does not necessarily mean that there is an actual memory disorder.
It is important to determine whether the memory complaints are based on genuinely impaired memory due to epileptic seizures, the side effects of anti-epileptic drugs, or if there is another underlying cause. This can be investigated through neuropsychological assessment.
Treating memory problems is not simple, but training in the use of memory aids can be helpful.
