Synoniemen:

Epilepsy and Stress, Triggers, Alcohol and Seizures, Epilepsy and Sleep Deprivation, Light Flashes and Epilepsy

Epileptic seizures often occur unexpectedly. This unpredictability can be very frustrating, which is why patients often search for triggers of their seizures. If the trigger is known, it can be avoided.

Unfortunately, there is often no clear trigger. In some cases, however, there is a distinct connection between certain situations and the occurrence of a seizure: excessive alcohol consumption, drug use, sleep deprivation, stress/emotions, hormonal changes, light flashes, temperature changes such as with fever, and missing medication doses.
