Short Stay with Epilepsy
The impact of epilepsy can be significant for both the individual with epilepsy and their surroundings. Additional issues, such as difficult-to-understand behavior and/or multiple disabilities, can further increase the burden on the person with epilepsy and their loved ones.
Kempenhaeghe’s short stay option provides a "break" to relieve the homefront. Thanks to this "recharging," caregivers can continue providing support for a longer period.
The short stay option is available for both children and adults with epilepsy, with or without additional medical or behavioral care needs. Each stay is carefully planned to ensure the guest receives the most appropriate care during their stay.
Children under 18 typically stay in one of the child residential departments in Heeze.
For adults, short stay accommodation is available in several homes in the Sterksel residential area of Kloostervelden or in Kempenhaeghe homes in surrounding villages.
We see short stays as personalized care. There are options available on weekends, during holiday periods, for several consecutive days per month, or on regular weekdays. Arrangements are confirmed in a short stay contract.
