Fragile-X
Fragile-X syndrome is caused by a genetic mutation and primarily affects boys.
The severity of the condition varies from child to child. One in five children with fragile-X syndrome experiences epilepsy. Various types of seizures can occur. Anti-epileptics (medications for epilepsy) can help suppress the seizures.
At a specialized epilepsy center like Kempenhaeghe, there is unique expertise and experience in helping children with fragile-X syndrome.
