Pooling strengths in care and education
Your child has epilepsy, a sleep disorder, or a neurological learning or developmental disorder. Of course, you would like to know whether and how this condition affects their ability to learn. And also, how the education can be adapted to the condition.
At Kempenhaeghe, we know better than anyone how important the link between care and education is for a developing child. The better this is coordinated, the better your child – with a suitable study or profession – can grow into as independent an adult as possible.
In our research, we closely examine the impact of the condition on what your child understands, learns, and remembers. For example, through neuropsychological assessments, we look at language, attention, memory, concentration, and planning skills. Sometimes, an educational expert is part of the treatment team around a child. Additionally, several behavioral scientists from De Berkenschutse are involved in certain Kempenhaeghe care programs for children.
