(Neuro)psychological Perspective
Behavioral scientists are active in all centers of Kempenhaeghe. Using their expertise, they contribute to the diagnostics, treatment, and guidance of patients and students.
In the Center for Epilepsy Residential Care, orthopedagogues and/or healthcare psychologists apply their expertise for optimal residential support. In the Academic Center for Epileptology, the Center for Sleep Medicine, and the Center for Neurological Learning and Developmental Disorders, disciplines such as clinical (neuro)psychology, healthcare psychology, and psychotherapy are available. Behavioral scientists at De Berkenschutse provide psycho-education and assist students who are struggling with learning, work attitude, and/or social-emotional functioning.
As members of the multidisciplinary treatment team, behavioral scientists work with both children and adults, with and without physical or intellectual disabilities. They are responsible for (neuro)psychological diagnostics and treatment. The findings are reported to the treating specialist.
