Medication (or reducing medication)
Specific medication may help for a sleep disorder with a neurological or other physical cause – such as narcolepsy or the restless legs syndrome. It is usually preferred that a sleep disorder is treated without medication. When this in order, support may be provided in helping to reduce medication.
However, drug-free treatment is not always possible or does not meet the patient’s desire. In this case, the options are discussed with the patient, and pros and cons weighed.
