Intensive collaboration

Kempenhaeghe collaborates intensively with other epilepsy centres, hospitals and academic centres in the Netherlands and abroad, as well as with patients and professional associations. Collaboration varies from cooperation in patient care to cooperation in schientific research.

A formal partnership is formed with the University Hospital Maastricht. Part of the scientific research involves European university hospitals. Periodical consultations and exchanges take place with fellow epilepsy centres abroad.

Kempenhaeghe collaborates with the TOPGGz recognized centre for neuropsychiatry, part of GGZ Noord- en Midden-Limburg.

Partners

The broad structural complementary collaboration with University Hospital Maastricht is of the utmost importance for Kempenhaeghe to practice and develop its tasks as an expertise centre. The collaboration includes joint research projects in the field of functional neuro-imaging and neuro-monitoring, cooperation in epilepsy surgery, and co-appointments of neurologists and behavioural scientists. Furthermore, the epileptology training at Kempenhaeghe is part of the training to be a neurologist. Kempenhaeghe also has its own epileptology outpatient clinic at the University Hospital Maastricht and reversely a Maastricht pediatric neurologist holds office hours at the Heeze outpatient clinic.
